Students Explore the Art of Chinese Calligraphy

The school’s Arts & Culture program took students on a journey through traditional Chinese calligraphy this week. With brushes in hand and ink at the ready, students practiced ancient techniques, learning how every stroke conveys meaning and emotion.

Guided by Ms. Lora, a QISS calligraphy instructor, students experimented with different styles—from bold, expressive characters to delicate, flowing scripts. “Calligraphy teaches patience, focus, and respect for culture,” said Ms. Lora.

The activity not only enhanced artistic skills but also offered a glimpse into Chinese heritage, sparking curiosity about language, history, and art. Parents and teachers were impressed by the creativity on display, with many pieces showcased in the school’s gallery for all to admire.

The event emphasized cultural appreciation, creativity, and mindfulness—showing that art can bridge traditions and modern classrooms.
